Active house had such a great evening last Saturday at our 12th Annual Founders’ Day! Because it was freezing and the roads were still a little icy, we’d like to give a special thanks to Rima Krabuanrat, Kim Tran, Phi Dee Alumni, representatives, and guests that could still make it to our banquet at the Petroleum Club. Shout out to the organizations that joined us in celebrating 12 years of crossing ambitious women into the sisterhood of a lifetime! Asian American Student Association, alpha Kappa Delta Phi, Delta Phi Omega, Lambda Phi Epsilon, Vietnamese Student Association, and last but definitely not least, our handsome brothers of Tau Kappa Omega.
We’re so proud of our newest members, Chi Class, for doing a live performance to kick off our evening. Although this is their first semester being active, each of these lovely ladies are taking initiative to add their own style to our wonderful sisterhood. Great job again, Chi Class! The audience was definitely entertained.
This year’s Founders’ Day was definitely memorable. The venue was beautiful, overlooking OKC at night. The speeches were inspiring and the videos made by Founders’ Day committee were all hilarious and heartwarming at the same time (Check them out at www.youtube.com/PhiDeltaAlpha). Everybody looked amazing in their formal wear and the FOOD WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD. Never have I had better tasting mashed potatoes.
None of this would have been possible without our Founders’ Day Chair, Lynn Tran and her amazing Founders’ Day Committee: Eden Choe, Pauline Ha, Lira Kang, Jennie Nguyen, Paula Tran, Yen Tran, and Cindy Szeto. Next year’s committee has a lot to live up to!
Lumos is the perfect theme, because it means light. It symbolizes how sisterhood is the light that guides you not only through college, but through life. Phi Dee was just a dream back in 2002, but now we’ve crossed over 100 strong women into our sisterhood. Active house is so proud to be continuing the legacy of our 14 ambitious founders who had the simple dream of empowering women of different backgrounds through sisterhood. Here’s to another 12 years of success. See you at next year’s banquet!
